Suffolk Garden show welcomed Jean-Christophe Novelli over the Easter Bank holiday for the first of many appearance with Aztec events this year.
It was no ordinary wind. It was what my grand-father used to call a “lazy wind”....too lazy to go around you, so it went straight through you!
I was impressed, once again, by the resolve and determination of the suffolk folk turning out in numbers in such adverse weather conditions. Cooking in such conditions was a challenge for us all, me the audience & the equipment. I am glad to report, however, that the SWISS GRILLS’ Arosa A-250B Barbeque, coped fantasticly throughout the day.
It was quite surreal during the tasting as my assistant, Tony, passed out the samples of steak & squid among the audience with snow & hail stones bouncing off the plate. Amazingly, however, it didn’t seem to put people off one bit!
I was honoured to judge the mixed breed class in the dog show & must say that it was extremely hard to pick a winner. Faced with about 30 dogs & owners, all of whom quite clearly loved and cared for their animals to the highest standard. So far as I am concerned they are ALL winners.
This was the first of many barbeque demonstrations I will be doing with SWISS GRILLS, throughout the summer, at venues across the country. Check my website www.jeanchristophenovelli.com for details. It would be great to see you at one of them. Hopefully we will have better weather for the others!
